Over the past few years our family has volunteered with my sons school preparing and delivering food to a nearby shelter. We have even had the opportunity to tour the shelter. I feel that this has allowed our son to see the differences in individuals in many ways. I believe that this has also taught him to be even more appreciative of the things he has and to value them.
Today the school took a different approach by preparing lunches along with thank you cards for the Police Officers and Firemen. Sometimes we forget to thank those in our own backyard. The children had the opportunity to deliver the lunches personally.
